Orius sp. is a predatory bug used to control all stages of thrips. It also feeds on pollen. Adults are 2-2.5 mm long, mostly black with lighter markings on the wings. Nymphs are colorless when they hatch, darkening to yellow and dark brown as they grow. They grow from 0.5 mm to 1.8 mm in length. Orius moves quickly at all stages. Adults are good flyers and move efficiently inside a greenhouse to locate prey. Adults are often attracted to, and can be found in flowers.
Mode of action:Predatory bugs search for their prey or wait for it to pass by, then suck it dry.
APPLICATION
Recommended for use in greenhouses or net houses. Should be applied in the early morning or in the late afternoon. Apply to the crops as soon as possible after receipt.
Slightly rotate and shake before opening the packaging.
Frequently stir the substrate while releasing.
Pour into the hanging box (1-1.5 cm thick); Hang near flowers and under leaves, avoid direct sunlight and water.
Or sprinkle equally directly on the leaves.
Release in groups of at least 50 individuals so that predators can easily mate and develop a population.
Leave the packaging near the plants for some days.
DOSAGE
2000-4000 bugs/ 1000 m2, release in groups of at least 50 individuals.
STORAGE
Apply to the crops as soon as possible after receipt.
Store in a cool, ventilated room and release within the day.
